How it all started
I have always loved photographs. Growing up I loved having the disposable cameras that I could fill up with pictures and take to have them developed. I liked getting the pictures back and going through them, not really knowing what I was getting. That was long before digital cameras and the convenience of instantly uploading them to the computer. My grandmother is a huge photo lover, I credit her for my love of photography. She always had a camera handy, and her house if full of photo frames of all her family members. I have numerous albums that she has made for me, chronicling my life from infancy to present day.
Taking Photography from Hobby to Profession
I have always loved working with children. It started in high school when I volunteered at a pre school for underprivileged children. It was then that I decided that I wanted my career to involve children in some capacity. The early phase of my adulthood was focused on raising my three children. When my youngest was a few months shy of three -years-old I went to work at my older children's elementary school as a teacher's aide. I am currently in my fourth year in an integrated Pre-K classroom. With my love of children, it was a no brainer that children would be my primary focus in photography.
